APPOSLASH PRACTICAL GUIDES
How to turn a UPI ID into a payment link
A payment link is a convenient way to pass instructions to a UPI app. It does not create a bank account, issue a UPI ID or verify a recipient. Start with the ID already shown in your own bank or UPI app.
Make your first link
- Open the free UPI link generator and enter your existing UPI ID.
- Add the name you want the payer to see on the page. This name is a label you supply; the actual recipient name inside the payment app takes priority.
- Leave the amount blank for a payer-chosen amount, or add an INR amount with up to two decimal places. Our tool caps instructions at ₹10,00,000; your bank or app may allow less.
- Add a short note or reference if useful. Do not include private case details, passwords or account numbers.
- Confirm you may share these details, generate, and check every field before copying.
What is inside the link?
A generic intent uses the upi://pay scheme. The recipient ID is pa, display name is pn, currency is cu, optional amount is am, note is tn and reference is tr. Text is URL encoded so spaces and non-English names survive sharing. See Google’s official UPI intent documentation.
upi://pay?pa=studio-demo%40upi&pn=Example%20Studio&cu=INR&am=99.00
This is an illustrative ID, not a verified payment destination. Use your own details.
UPI link or web page link?
The UPI link asks a compatible device to open a payment app. The AppoSlash payer-page link is an ordinary HTTPS page that shows the details and QR, then offers a deliberate “Open my UPI app” step. The data is in its URL fragment after #. It is readable and editable, not encrypted or signed. Anyone with that link can see the details, so share only what you intend to disclose.
Test without paying
Use a phone with a compatible UPI app. Open the link or scan the QR, inspect the actual recipient ID, bank-resolved name, note and amount, then cancel. Try the share channel you plan to use too: some chat apps or browsers handle deep links differently. A computer without a UPI app can show a QR for a phone to scan.
What this free tool does not do
There are no hosted short links, account verification or payment receipts. AppoSlash does not send the form fields to a server or save them in browser storage. Your browser, clipboard, downloads and share recipients may retain copies. Your UPI app handles authorisation and the recipient checks settlement independently.
Try it with your own details.
The free tool needs no account. Review before sharing and test before printing.
